Membership

Dear Colleagues:

I am so pleased to be serving as your president of the Florida Association of Branch Campus Administrators (FABCA) this year.  In a time when the educational landscape in Florida is changing so much it’s even more important that we look to our peers and colleagues at other branch campus for great ideas and best practices.

My goal for this year is to build upon the wonderful work done by last year’s president, Dr. Cece Rivers (now serving as the president of the National Association of Branch Campus Administrators), and our founding president, Dr.  Phyllis Bebko.  When FABCA was formed (about 3 years ago now) it was so exciting, for me personally, to be able to meet and talk with colleagues who understood the unique experience of being a branch campus administrator – both the great parts and the inevitable challenges.  This year I’d like to work with our FABCA board to make opportunities available for us to interact with each other, whether electronically or in person, or perhaps a bit of both.  Stay tuned for upcoming events!

If you aren’t currently a member of FABCA, I hope you’ll consider joining us.  FABCA’s mission is to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and information, benchmark and share best practices, advance relevant research, discuss common challenges, and offer networking opportunities and professional development for regional and branch campus administrators.  Membership is open to individuals in administrative leadership roles on one or more multi-campus, degree-granting, regionally-accredited, not-for-profit institutions of higher education in the state of Florida.  It’s easy to join - just click the membership link on the left of this page.

On June 19 & 20, 2010, we will be holding our 4th Annual FABCA Conference at the Long Boat Key Club located near Sarasota.  We’re planning it to dovetail with the Regional Branch Campus Administrators (http://www.ohio.edu/rbca/) annual conference that has been held there each June for a number of years.  Please mark your calendars now for a great opportunity to meet colleagues from many institutions both in Florida, and from the rest of the country as well.   Registration information will be posted in the near future.

Thank you for visiting our website.  Please check back often for event updates and other information.  If you would like to be added to our e-mail list, please send that request to webmaster@fabca.net.
.

Sincerely,
Lynn M. Colón
